六○年代曾經以「You Don't Have to Say You Love Me」紅極一時的達絲蒂司普林菲德，1939年四月十六日出生於倫敦，本名叫做瑪莉奧白朗，五○年代就開始進入歌壇，最早是參加「The Lana Sisters」三重唱，後來跟她的兄長湯姆共同組成了「 The Springfields 」三重唱，在英國的民歌界頗有些名氣，而她也在這個時候把藝名改成達絲蒂司普林菲德。(截自西洋銀河音樂城) 1963年，她大膽的決定獨立，以獨唱歌手的姿態闖蕩江湖，一曲「I Only Want to Be with You」立刻造成轟動.
